In the 2010 Brazilian election, over 20 % of the candidate running of public office were investigated. One of the candidate in the election Dilma Rousseff was recently in a scandal that involve in an ethics scandal with her former aide(amount of money and people). But the election was a success.

Sporting Event in Brazil

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil was voted host city for the 2016 Olympic Games by the Internatioal Olympic Committee on Friday, October 2, 2009. They will also host the Finals of the FIFA World Cup in 2014. Environmental Issue in Brazil

The Amazon Basin is begin destroyed and              endangering plants and animals species due to detorestation, air and water pollution in Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, and other cities. Other causes of degradation and water pollution are caused by mining activities, wetland degradation, and oil spill.

Brazil's Climate



Brazil climate dependence according to latitude and elevation. Brazil  winters run from June to Setpember and summers run from November to March. Average temperature in the summer ranges from 25 to 40 degrees C that's 75 to about 100 degrees F. Norht Rio de Janeiro have warm tropical weather most of the year, while the south have warm summers and cold winters with little snowfall.

Natural Disaster in Brazil

On Thursday, January 13 2011, a massive flooding and mudslides hit Brazil leaving at least 541 people dead, making it the country's worst natural disaster in Brazil history. It was cause by heavy rain in the Serrana region. Three major towns that were part of this disaster were: Novo Friburgo, Teresopolis, and Petropolis. The flood also destroyed homes, roads, and power line, it also buried hundreds of people alive while they were sleeping. 247 people were killed in Novo Friburgo, 231 killed in Teresopolis, and 43 killed in Petropolis. About 1000 people were homeless after the flooding.
